Frequently asked questions
How is a weighted average grade calculated?
Each grade is multiplied by its weight, those products are summed, and the total is divided by the sum of the weights. Rows with no grade or zero weight are ignored.
Do the weights need to add up to 100?
No. The calculator divides by whatever the weights total, so partial entries still give a correct weighted average of the items you've filled in.
How are letter grades assigned?
Standard cutoffs are used: 97+ = A+, 93+ = A, 90+ = A-, 87+ = B+, and so on down to F below 60.
